Photos and video from the sets of two of the most high-profile sequel films based on comic properties have been popping up all over social media this week.
In the wake of last weekend’s reveal of Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn in costume on the set of “Joker: Folie a Deux,” more photos, video and information about the film has been coming out from eagle-eyed fans.
Today saw one of the big events as Gaga was spotted filming a scene solo on the famed stairs in New York that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker danced on in the 2019 film. The singer/actress was seen climbing the stairs and then dancing slightly on each of the landings. A photo of Gaga filming is up at the DC Cinematic Reddit.
It follows on from video the other day of the production. The clip captured Gaga offscreen doing a rendition of the song “Couple of Swells” sung by Judy Garland and Fred Astaire in the film “Easter Parade”. Gaga was also heard singing a portion of Arthur Schwartz and Howard Dietz’s “That’s Entertainment”.
Earlier in the week Phoenix was photographed by The Daily Mail filming new scenes on Wednesday afternoon, boasting a dusty and dirty version of the same outfit he wore last week along with make-up that was smeared and fading.
Meanwhile Harrison Ford, Tim Blake Nelson, Anthony Mackie and Liv Tyler were all spotted filming the upcoming “Captain America: New World Order” in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ford plays President Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the film, taking over the role from the late William Hurt, alongside Nelson who returns as Samuel Sterns (aka. The Leader) and who was seen sporting green body paint on his hands.
Mackie and Tyler meanwhile were spotted by Just Jared filming a scene in a cemetery, more specifically a sequence that looks like a military funeral of some sort. Filming on both will continue throughout much of the first half of this year.
“Joker: Folie a Deux” is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 4th 2024. “Captain America: New World Order” opens May 3rd 2024.
