Multiple Oscar nominee Willem Dafoe says he’d be willing to return to the “Spider-Man” films should the opportunity arise.

The actor took on the role of the villain Norman Osborne/Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s 2002 film “Spider-Man” followed by brief cameos in its two sequels. More recently he reprised the role for 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home”.

With the “Spider-Man” franchise at something of a crossroads, it’s not clear where it will go next beyond Sony seemingly quite determined to have Tom Holland back at least one more time.

Could others from ‘No Way Home’ join him? In a recent interview with Inverse to promote “Inside,” Dafoe tells the outlet he’d be up for it:

“If everything was right, sure. I mean, that’s a great role. I liked the fact that it’s a double role both times. Twenty years ago, and fairly recently, both times [were] very different experiences, but I had a good time on both.”

Another person who appears to be happy to be a part of the action should the opportunity arise is Shameik Moore, the actor who voices the lead character of Miles Morales in the animated “Spider-Verse” films.

Speaking to Empire, Moore says he loves to play Miles in a live-action film but as he’s 27 soon going on 28, he may be too old for the part:

“I feel like everyone knows I would be a great [live-action] Miles Morales. As I left the theatre after that premiere, Jamie Foxx looked at me like… he knew. I think Tom Holland knows, too. It just depends on how old they want Miles to be by the time they’re ready to do a live-action movie. That’s the conundrum with whether or not I end up playing him.”

Moore will soon be seen in the two Spider-Verse sequels arriving this Summer and next year. Could either of those incorporate the opposite possibility and have Tom Holland appear in them in animated form? Asked about such a possibility by the same outlet, Sony producer Amy Pascal played coy:

“[Fans will] have to wait a couple of years to see what we do. But, with the multiverse going both ways, could Tom Holland’s Peter Parker head into the animated Spider-Verse? I am not going to comment on anything around that! But I can tell you that Tom Holland does love these [Spider-Verse] movies.”

“Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” hits cinemas on June 2nd with “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” arriving next summer. A fourth live-action Holland-led “Spider-Man” has not yet set a release date.
