VOD Releases
Some digital release dates have been announced with “Babylon” arriving on PVOD on January 31st, “Skinamarink” coming to Shudder on February 2nd, “Spoiler Alert” on Peacock on February 3rd, “EO” and “A Man Called Otto” arriving on VOD on February 21st, and the new “Children of the Corn” on VOD on March 21st (along with a March 3rd theatrical release).

Untitled Marvel Project
A new rumor at The Cosmic Circus claims actress Jona Xiao (“Hightown,” “Being Mary Jane”) is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an unknown ‘lead female’ role as part of a secret Marvel project for the Disney+ service. Xiao was initially cast in a role in 2017’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming” but her part was cut in the final version.

Pulp
Tom McCarthy (“Spotlight,” “The Visitor”) and Ed Brubaker are teaming up to pen a feature film adaptation of Brubaker’s graphic novel “Pulp. McCarthy may also direct depending upon how the script comes together.

The Image Comics title follows a pulp writer in 1930s New York named Max Winters who finds himself drawn into a story akin to his books about a Wild West outlaw. Is Max able to be like his creation when confronted by Nazi spies and other nefarious types? [Source: Above the Line]

Creed III
MGM has premiered a new TV spot for “Creed III” ahead of the film’s March 3rd release. This marks the first “Rocky” film without the presence of Sylvester Stallone and sees Michael B. Jordan returning not just as lead character Adonis Creed but also making his feature directorial debut.

Other returnees include Tessa Thompson as Adonis’ girlfriend Bianca, and Phylicia Rashad as his stepmother Mary Anne, while Jonathan Majors will play the new antagonist Anderson Dame in a film that promises that “there’s no enemy like the past”.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Marvel Studios has released a behind-the-scenes featurette exploring how they shot the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” underwater sequences, including plenty of ‘dry-for-wet’ filming along with actual underwater filming and more. The clip comes ahead of the film’s release on the Disney+ streaming service on February 1st.
