Lowenthal On “Spider-Man 2” Game Progress

Insomniac Games

Though there are potentially two “Final Fantasy” titles for lovers of Japanese RPG, the biggest western Sony PlayStation exclusive of 2023 is Insomniac Games’ “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”.

The title marks the full-sized follow-up to the critically-acclaimed 2018 video game and the 2020 smaller spin-off title “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales” with fans eagerly awaiting to see how the story will continue.

There’s no official word on a release date as yet, bar the game coming out sometime in the Fall window of this year. Recently voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, who returns to voice Peter Parker in the movie, dropped an update on the game’s progress.

Speaking to ComicBookMovie.com, Lowenthal says don’t expect the game to see a delay into next year like so many games in 2022 underwent:

“I’ve still got a little bit to do. It’s a massive game so I’m still doing a little bit of work… I know they’re confident about their release date and Insomniac has always been good about that.

I’m so excited for you to play it. They know they’ve got big shoes to fill from the last two games and they’ve done it… I just can’t wait for people to play it.”

“Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is set to be launched exclusively on PlayStation 5 and will boast new villains with Venom confirmed and Kraven the Hunter rumored.

Both “Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales” are currently available on PS5 and PC.
