Today’s NFL playoff game between the Bengals and the Bills on CBS and Paramount+ included a promo announcing that the final trailer for the third season of “Star Trek: Picard” will air Sunday, January 29th.

The trailer will be released during next weekend’s NFL AFC Championship Game which will air on CBS and stream on the Paramount+ service. Check out the rather awkwardly juxtaposed football-themed announcement promo below.

Glimpses of new footage can be seen amidst the NFL action. The game itself starts at 6:30pm US-EST with an extended version of the final trailer to be released later online shortly after.

That’s not all though. Showrunner Terry Matalas has previously indicated that the upcoming third season will deal with some of the fallout from the Dominion War in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”.

In a Twitter post today responding to a fan talking about how the Dominion War reshaped the galaxy, Matalas says Worf “never quite moved on” from the war which took place 25 years prior to the events of the new “Picard” season.

The third and final run of “Picard” premieres on Thursday, February 16th 2023 and streams exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Crave in Canada and on Amazon Prime everywhere else worldwide, New episodes of the ten-episode season will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays.
