Appearing at the Critics Choice Awards last night, “Rocketman” and “Eddie the Eagle” filmmaker Dexter Fletcher hinted that his Chris Evans and Ana de Armas-led romantic action adventure feature film “Ghosted” will be released in April.

Originally slated to star former Marvel alums Scarlett Johansson and Evans before the former dropped out, the Apple Original Films and Skydance project now reunites the “Knives Out” duo of Evans and de Armas.

Plot specifics are under wraps, but the project hails from a script by “Deadpool” scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese and will co-star Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, Tim Blake Nelson and Tate Donovan. In addition, Evans and De Armas executive produce.

Fletcher tells Deadline that production is ‘well-wrapped’ on the project, and finishing touches are going on now. He adds:

“It’ll be ready for April. I mean, I don’t know if I’m even allowed to say that, but I’ve said it, so… I think people should be standing by their TVs and their Apple boxes for April. They’ve got a good time coming.”

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Jules Daly and Don Granger are producing the project, which was shot in Atlanta and Washington D.C. Fletcher was linked to a third film in Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” movies, potentially taking over the project with Ritchie producing. The pandemic derailed that project, but Fletcher said last summer he hopes it’ll go ahead.
