The official “Scream” Twitter account has posted a photo and caption that appears to have unofficially announced the premiere date for the film’s full trailer – and it’s coming this Thursday.
The post features a photo of the cast of the film in a New York City bodega using the app BeReal, and it has the caption: “Looks like we have a spill. Clean up on aisle 1 and 19. Gonna need a mop AND body bag”.
A user subsequently asked the account if this is an announcement of the next trailer’s release on January 19th, to which they responded: “What are you a detective? I don’t like detectives”.
Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett return to helm the film, which sees Melissa Barrera’s Sam back alongside Jenna Ortega (Tara), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Mindy), and Mason Gooding (Chad) as the quartet leaves Woodsboro behind and attempt to start a fresh chapter in New York City.
The new film also sees the return of Courteney Cox and “Scream 4” alum Hayden Panettiere alongside franchise newcomer Dermot Mulroney, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra and Henry Czerny.
Ortega has already promised the new film will be a much gorier affair than the previous entry, with the New York City setting set to offer a whole different feel to this chapter. “Scream 6” will open in cinemas on March 10th.
