Singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of music icon Elvis Presley, has died at the age of 54.
Presley died Thursday at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center after an episode of cardiac arrest earlier in the day at her home in Calabasas, California. Her mother, actress Priscilla Presley, announced in a statement:
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
She and her mother attended the Golden Globes on Tuesday night, with actor Austin Butler thanking her and Priscilla in his acceptance speech for the Best Actor award.
In her time, she released three studio albums and recorded duets featuring her late father’s vocals for several singles.
Presley was married to musician Danny Keough from 1988-94, singer Michael Jackson from 1994-96, actor Nicolas Cage from 2002-04 and guitarist Michael Lockwood from 2006-21. All four marriages ended in divorce.
She’s by three children, including model-actress Riley Keough and twins Harper and Finley.
