Flamin’ Hot
Searchlight Pictures has set a June 9th release date exclusively on Hulu for Eva Longoria’s directorial debut feature “Flamin’ Hot”. Lewis Colick and Linda Yvette Chávez penned the script while Annie Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera, Tony Shalhoub and Matt Walsh co-star.

The film deals with Richard Montañez (played by Jesse Garcia), the son of a Mexican immigrant and janitor at Frito-Lay who came up with the idea for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos inspired by the flavors of his community. The move changed the food industry forever. [Source: Collider]

SXSW
“Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” “Evil Dead Rise,” “Problemista” and “Flamin’ Hot” will hold premieres at the upcoming SXSW film festival, which runs March 10th-19th. The complete lineup of this 30th edition of the fest, which takes place in Austin, Texas, will be announced in early February. [Source: SXSW]

Xbox
Microsoft has announced a January 25th 12pm US-PT premiere of its Developer_Direct event which will put the focus on four games for the service – “The Elder Scrolls Online,” “Forza Motorsport,” “Minecraft Legends” and “Redfall”. The plan is to offer “big feature and extended gameplay showcases” of the titles along with developers being on hand to discuss them. [Source: Engadget]

The Hush
Producer Clark Peterson has optioned Sara Foster’s thriller novel “The Hush” with plans to develop it as a television series. Peterson, Jess Jacobs, Stacy Milbourn and Chris Bellant will executive produce.

Set in a near-future, surveillance-state London, the story follows a group of women who join forces with a midwife to save her daughter, who is the latest in a string of pregnant teens that have mysteriously disappeared. [Source: Deadline]

Warner Pass
Warner Bros. Discovery and Amazon Prime Video have done a major content deal in France that will see HBO content plus 12 channels, including CNN, Eurosport, Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network and Warner TV, all available on the Amazon Prime platform in the nation via what’s been called a ‘Warner Pass’ subscription.
