The Last of Us
Former “True Blood” and “Queen Sugar” star Rutina Wesley has been confirmed to be playing the role of Maria in the upcoming HBO TV series adaptation of the acclaimed video game “The Last of Us” premiering January 15th.

In the games, Maria is Tommy’s wife and leads a thriving community at a hydroelectric power plant in Jackson, Wyoming. Her role expands in the second game, so Wesley would likely return in a more expanded role if a second season goes forward. [Source: EW]

Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Filmmaker David F. Sandberg confirms that a new trailer for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is set to release sometime this month. Oscar nominee Woody Harrelson has joined the cast of the Apple Original Films feature “Project Artemis” which is set against the space race of the 1960s. Plot specifics are under wraps, as are details of Harrelson’s character.

The first official photos are out for Lionsgate’s forthcoming film adaptation of the famed novel “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret”.
