“Euphoria” star Sydney Sweeney and “Top Gun: Maverick” man Glen Powell are set to star in “Easy A” and “Friends With Benefits” director Will Gluck’s new movie – an untitled R-rated romantic comedy for Sony Pictures.
Ilana Wolpert penned the script which Gluck is rewriting, but plot details are under wraps. Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Gluck are producing and shooting is expected to start at the end of next month.
Sweeney stars in the upcoming Sony Marvel film “Madame Web,” recently wrapped “National Anthem,” and is attached to produce and star in a “Barbarella” reboot and “The Registration” both at Sony.
Powell will team with Chris Morgan on the sci-fi action thriller “Deputy X” at Universal and has signed on to the buddy comedy “Foreign Relations” reuniting him with his “Scream Queens” cohort Nick Jonas.
Gluck is currently developing the action comedy “End of the World” which he wrote with Chris Bremner, and a film adaptation of Ubisoft’s “Just Dance”.
