Pop megastar and actor Harry Styles (“Dunkirk,” “My Policeman”) made a very brief appearance in a post-credits scene in Marvel Studios’ “Eternals,” taking on the role of Eros (aka. Starfox) from the comics.

The character is another Eternal and also the half-brother of the Mad Titan Thanos, who served as the bad guy of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame” played by Josh Brolin.

In the scene in “Eternals,” Eros and his partner Pip (voiced by Patton Oswalt) showed up on the Eternals ship, offering their assistance. So far, that has remained Styles’ sole appearance or even reference in the MCU to the point that it has begun to be seen as a bit of stunt casting.

Speaking on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast, Marvel Studios VP of Production & Development Nate Moore was asked about Styles’ future going forward. Moore couldn’t say much but made it clear they didn’t cast Styles simply as a cameo:

“We didn’t cast Harry for a tag. [There are] more stories to be told with that character. He has an interesting connection with Thanos; they’re half-brothers and share the same father. He’s a complicated character but a really fun character.”

The future of the characters from the “Eternals” in the MCU is unknown at this time, the film famously being the most critically rejected of the Marvel Studios films to date. Whilst its $400 million box-office was solid, with a $200 million production budget it marked one of the MCU’s rare flops.

In the comics, Starfox has worked alongside Captain Marvel and The Avengers, but there have been no reports of a potential Styles cameo in “The Marvels” to date.
