While the first part of season five of Yellowstone may reached its conclusion at the start of the new year, fans won’t have to wait too long for the next back of episodes. But to hold them over, Paramount has released the first teaser for part two, which will debut in Summer 2023.
The teaser, which coincides with the mid-season finale of Yellowstone, doesn’t show much but it does immediately build hype for the return of the popular series, showing key characters like John Dutton (Kevin Costner), Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and John’s daughter, Beth (Kelly Reilly). It also shows some behind-the-scenes footage from the show and promotes the official Yellowstone podcast.
As per Paramount, “Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and vicious business rivalries.”
Yellowstone has proven to be a massive success, with the season five debut pulling in a reported 12.1 million viewers. While the fan reception hasn’t been as resounding as previous seasons, there’s no doubt that the final part of Yellowstone season five will be another major draw for the Paramount Network.
Yellowstone has also spawned two spin-off series so far. The first was 1883, starring Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. The most recent, which debuted in December, is 1923, co-starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. That series has itself set some viewership records, with the series debut pulling in 7.1 million viewers across Paramount+, the Paramount Network and encores, which makes it Paramount+’s biggest debut since its launch.
Yellowstone will return in Summer 2023, although no official release date has been unveiled. Just another mystery on the Dutton Ranch!
