The second season of “Slow Horses,” the Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden-led Apple TV+ espionage thriller series with a dash of dark comedy, came to a close on Friday night – but the show isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Today the streamer has released the first trailer for the third season, which will be based on “Real Tigers,” the third novel in Mick Herron’s Slough House book series.

The new season sees Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves) kidnapped by a former soldier bent on revenge and must breach Regent’s Park to steal valuable intel in exchange for their comrade’s safety. They soon uncover a larger web of intrigue involving private mercenaries and the highest authorities in the Security Service.

Filming on the third and fourth seasons is taking place back-to-back, much like what happened with the first and second seasons. As the renewal was only handed out in June, filming is still underway so it’s not clear when the third season will air beyond sometime in 2023.
