The second form in the Goomy evolutionary line, the rare Dragon-type Pokémon Sliggoo, can only be found in a few locations across Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region. While some Pokémon Trainers may be put off by the idea of catching a Pokémon covered in highly concentrated and potent mucus, other dedicated Trainers looking to complete their Pokédexes will want to track down this comparatively rare species of Pokémon. To do so, Pokémon Trainers will need to travel to one of several locations where some of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s toughest wild Pokémon can be found.
Pokémon Trainers aiming to complete Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Pokédex will quickly gain a deep working knowledge of the Paldea region’s many areas and biomes. As a precursor to a powerful Dragon-type Pokémon, Sliggoo can be found in West Province Area Four and Casseroya Lake, where many of the game’s toughest wild Pokémon can be found. According to Serebii, Sliggoo appears as a high-level wild Pokémon in both areas, allowing players to battle and catch it. However, another viable option exists for Pokémon Trainers who haven’t yet reached either of these areas.
Where To Find And Catch Sliggoo In Pokémon Scarlet And Violet
Trainers looking to grab Sliggoo a little earlier should travel to Paldea’s South Province, where a few of Paldea’s picturesque Ten Sights locations can be found. Sliggoo spawns as one of the region’s wild Tera Pokémon in South Province Area Four, allowing Trainers to battle and catch it. According to Techno Trainer, Sliggoo is a pure Poison-type Pokémon rather than a Dragon-type Pokémon during this particular battle. Therefore, Trainers must adjust their teams accordingly to avoid using Grass- and Fairy-type Pokémon, which will take super-effective damage from Sliggoo’s Poison-type Sludge Bomb move.
Trainers should take note that wild Tera Pokémon are typically higher level than the ordinary wild Pokémon that can be found in the same area. However, according to Serebii, Trainers should expect to battle a Sliggoo at Level 30, which is lower than the wild Sliggoo found at West Province Area Four or Casseroya Lake. To catch a wild Tera Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, Trainers don’t actually have to change their approach much. Chipping away at the Pokémon’s HP and using status effects such as Freeze or Paralyze are still the best ways for Trainers to improve their chances of catching Pokémon.
It’s worth noting that Trainers with some time on their hands can still opt to catch Goomy, Sliggoo’s pre-evolved form. While this means Trainers will have to invest more time training and evolving Goomy, this Pokémon is more commonly found than Sliggoo. Regardless of where Trainers find Sliggoo, they’ll be able to add it to their teams, and by evolving it into Goodra, they can add one of the best Dragon-types in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet to their rosters.
