“Pacific Rim: Uprising” and “The Spy Who Dumped Me” actress Ivanna Sakhno will reportedly be playing a character named Shin in the upcoming “Star Wars” series “Ahsoka” for the Disney+ service.
Making Star Wars broke the report, saying Shin is a new character who wields the dark side of the Force. In addition, Shin is allied with the Witches of Dathomir, known as the Nightsisters and could be a former member of the group.
The report continues on saying Shin is apparently the apprentice of Baylon – a former Jedi who fled to the Unknown Regions. Baylon has reportedly allied with Grand Admiral Thrawn in the series and sends Shin after Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson).
The Nightsisters were a part of the “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series, a series that hailed from Dave Filoni, who also serves as writer and showrunner on “Ahsoka”.
“Star Wars” fansites have been breaking down the show’s casting beyond the confirmed appearances of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.
Recently they indicated Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be playing Hera Syndulla whilst they suggest that Ray Stevenson is playing Baylon, and Lars Mikkelsen will reprise his “Star Wars: Rebels” voice role of Thrawn in live-action form.
Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy also executive produce the series, which began filming in May and is due for release sometime next year on the Disney+ service.
