NBC has handed out a series order for “The Irrational” starring former “The Flash” and “Law & Order” alum Jesse L. Martin.
The series was ordered to pilot in February, with Martin cast in April, but it’s still to be determined if the show will air in 2022-23 or be held for next season.
Penned by Arika Lisanne Mittman (“La Brea,” “Timeless”), the series is inspired by Dan Ariely’s book “Predictably Irrational” which explores people’s decision-making processes.
Martin will play renowned professor of behavioural science Alec Baker who lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations.
He has a unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behaviour that comes in handy on various high-stakes problems and cases. Maahra Hill (“Delilah”), Travina Springer (“Ms. Marvel”), Molly Kunz and Arash DeMaxi also star.
Mittman, Mark Goffman, Samuel Baum and director David Frankel executive produce for Universal Television.
