After a seventeen-year absence from the big game, Warner Bros. Discovery is returning to the Super Bowl with a new promo spot to be released for “The Flash” movie according to The Wrap.

Airing on Sunday February 12th, Super Bowl LVII will sport a TV spot ahead of a longer trailer that will be attached to copies of Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” opening on Friday February 17th. Though not confirmed, it’s likely these will be the first full trailers for the film and its big coming out party.

“The Flash” has reportedly been testing very positively and will see Ezra Miller’s take on The Flash from Zack Snyder’s “Justice League” travel across various multiverses, encountering other versions of himself, a version of Supergirl (Sasha Calle), and Michael Keaton returning as Batman after nearly 30 years.

Keaton last played Batman in 1992’s “Batman Returns” with this expected to serve as a part sequel to that – ignoring the events of the Joel Schumacher-directed films. The film has also reportedly cut a planned cameo by Henry Cavill’s Superman, though an appearance by Ben Affleck as Batman is expected to remain.

Miller, of course, has drawn headlines for troubling personal behavior and attention from law enforcement. They previously announced they had entered into treatment for ‘complex mental health issues’ and apologized in a statement to media.

The occasion marks the first films Warners has advertised at the Superbowl since “V for Vendetta” and “Poseidon” back in 2006. “The Flash” will open in theaters on June 16th 2023.
