Well Go USA Entertainment will be giving the South Korean sci-fi thriller Project Wolf Hunting a digital, Blu-ray, and DVD release in the U.S. on February 14th, and with that date less two months away a trailer for the film has arrived online, with English subtitles for those of us who don’t understand Korean. You can check it out in the embed above.
Written and directed by Kim Hong-seon, Project Wolf Hunting has the following synopsis: While under heavily armed guard, the dangerous convicts aboard a cargo ship unite in a coordinated escape attempt that soon escalates into a bloody, all-out riot. But as the fugitives continue their brutal campaign of terror, they soon discover that not even the most vicious among them is safe from the horror they unknowingly unleashed from the darkness below deck.
The film stars Seo In-guk, Jang Dong-yoon, Choi Gwi-hwa, Park Ho-san, Jung So-min, Ko Chang-seok, Jang Young-nam, Sung Dong-il, Son Jong-hak, Lee Sung-wook, Hong Ji-yoon, Jung Moon-sung, Lim Ju-hwan, Kwon Soo-hyun, Jung Sung-il, and Kim Kang-hoon. It was produced by Gu Seong-mok.
The trailer for Project Wolf Hunting promises that the film is going to be action-packed and full of bloodshed – which happens to be just the sort of movie I’m looking for, hopefully something along the lines of the Indonesian movie The Night Comes for Us, so I will definitely be taking in a viewing of this movie when it’s released in February.
Project Wolf Hunting will also be available to watch on the Screambox and Hi-YAH! streaming services as of May 15th.
Kim Hong-seon previously directed Traffickers, The Con Artists, and The Chase, all three of which are in the crime drama category, and the horror thriller Byeonshin, plus episodes of the TV shows Liar Game and Exhibition of Fireworks. I haven’t seen any of those as of this writing, so Project Wolf Hunting is probably going to be my first exposure to Kim Hong-seon’s directing career.
What did you think of the Project Wolf Hunting trailer? Will you be watching this movie in February, or streaming it in May? And have you seen anything else directed by Kim Hong-seon? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
