Gabriel Byrne has joined the cast of the Ana de Armas-led “John Wick” spin-off movie “Ballerina” which is currently shooting in Prague in the Czech Republic.

The Lionsgate film sees de Armas star as a young woman with killer skills who uses them to get revenge when hitmen kill her family. Shay Hatten penned the script.

Len Wiseman helms the feature, which will also star Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno and Keanu Reeves in a cameo. Most are reprising their roles from the earlier ‘Wick’ films with Reedus and Moreno joining Byrne as the newcomers.

Producer Basil Iwanyk says in a statement: “For decades, Gabriel’s mysterious and enigmatic presence has enriched dozens of films. You can never quite be sure what he’s thinking, and that’s perfect for this world.”

Byrne will next be seen playing Samuel Beckett in James Marsh’s “Dance First,” and as Enzo Ferrari in “Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend. He most recently appeared in Epix’s “War of the Worlds” series and indie film “Murder at Yellowstone City”.

Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Chad Stahelski are producing the film, which will debut after “John Wick: Chapter 4” hits cinemas on March 24th.
