Paramount Pictures found great success with horror this year following the big success of “Smile,” whilst Blumhouse is dominating genre circles with talk about its upcoming killer doll feature “M3GAN”.
For Paramount’s first and Blumhouse’s second horror film of 2023, the pair are teaming for Roxanne Benjamin’s “There’s Something Wrong With The Children”, which released its first trailer today.
In the film, Margaret (Alisha Wainwright) and Ben (Zach Gilford) take a weekend trip with longtime friends Ellie (Amanda Crew) and Thomas (Carlos Santos) and their two young children (Briella Guiza and David Mattle). Ben begins to suspect something supernatural is occurring when the kids behave strangely after disappearing into the woods overnight.
Unlike those other films, this is going to digital and on-demand with a release on January 17th ahead of premiering on the MGM+ service on March 17th. Benjamin directs from a screenplay by T.J. Cimfel and Dave White.
