“Antlers” and “Servant” writer C. Henry Chaisson will pen a series adaptation of Nick Cutter’s 2015 underwater thriller “The Deep” at Amazon Prime.
Set in the near future, the story centers on a research station at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean where a miraculous discovery signals a new hope for humanity.
However, secrets unearthed on the ocean floor might hold devastating consequences for the world above. Despite the same name, it has no connection to the 1976 Peter Benchley novel or its famed 1977 film adaptation.
Chaisson will write and executive produce the series alongside his commitment to pen an English-language feature adaptation of Young-ha Kim’s novella “Diary of a Murderer” for Mammoth Pictures. Chaisson also previously developed an adaptation of Ronald Malfi’s “Bone White” for Amazon.
Carlton Cuse (“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan”) and “Bosch” executive producers Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate will also executive produce.
